Cheese Sauce Pasta Bake
We love white sauce pasta in our household and a quick white sauce pasta is a regular in our weekday dinners. This specific dish is something I have made many a times on weekends when we have friends’ home and we feel like making something cheesy and Italian. The idea is simple, take pasta in a tray with a lot of veggies, prepare a white sauce and then bake them together to integrate them into a single dish. I do not broil at the end generally but have tried that too and if you like a little char and crust on your top, you should try that while making this recipe. Do not broil for more than 3-5 minutes, I do not broil as that takes away the softness from cheese on the top.
You can also add veggies and herbs of your choice while making it, I have suggested a few but you can always improvise.

Ingredients:
Some olive oil
Some pepper powder to taste
Salt to taste
Italian seasonings to taste
Some chili flakes to taste
Some dried sage leaves(Optional)
6 Garlic pods chopped small
1 Cup of whole milk
1 Scoop of cream cheese
1 zucchini chopped small
1 yellow squash chopped small
Some green beans cut small
1 Bowl of green peas
1 Pack of penne pasta
1 Teaspoon of cumin powder
1 Tablespoon of corn flour
2-4 Cherry tomatoes sliced thin
5 Mozzarella cheese slices
RECIPE :
Veggies -
1. Pour a little olive oil in a pan and bring it to heat.
2. Toss the zucchini and the yellow squash in the pan, sauté them for 6 minutes and let them cook while stirring them.
3. Add some pepper powder and salt while sauteing them. Once ready keep them aside.
4. In the same pan or a new pan, pour some olive oil.
5. Toss the green beans and green peas and sauté them for 5 minutes.
6. In a separate vessel, boil some pasta.
Sauce –
1. Take a pan and pour some olive oil in it, bring it to heat.
2. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for 3 minutes.
3. Add the cumin powder and sauté for a minute.
4. Pour the milk, the cream cheese and stir until the cheese melt.
5. Once the cheese melts and thickens the sauce, add some Italian seasonings to taste in the sauce.
6. Add the corn flour and mix it with the sauce, pour a little water and the sauce is ready.
Pasta Bake –
1. Spray oil or butter in a baking tray, add the pasta in the tray.
2. Place the veggies on top of the pasta, the cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese slices.
3. Pour the sauce on top, some more Italian seasonings, salt, pepper, chili flakes, dried sage leaves and bake the pasta for 15 minutes at 350 degrees in a conventional oven.
4. Take out the tray after 15 minutes and serve hot.
